Yes, oranges can be ‘green’ (unripe) – who would’ve thought?! Much work has already been done by the tree and surrounding nature (and hopefully all that lovely washing rinse water has played a part). Flowers have been visited by bees, fruit has set and grown, juiciness is building. Wonderful colour will alert us at just the right time, when the sweet-orangey-goodness-forming process is complete. Have you ever noticed that sometimes what seems like a fast and huge breakthrough is actually the result of a ton of time and work and effort? I choose to take this as a reminder (from the oranges!) that persistence is a virtue!

Music (1)
If you have not discovered the wonders of the podcast of the “E-Town” radio show, I can highly recommend it. It’s all about diversity, community, and connecting with the language of music that often goes beyond verbal language. I sound like a big hippie! Who me?! It’s a Feel Good listen, I love it for exercising or commuting. I was just listening to the episode from February 18 this year with Playing for Change featured. A singer-songwriter, Grandpa Elliott also had some songs, including a lovely love song, with words something like: … “sugar is sweet, but so is your kiss… honey is sweet but so are your lips….. if you kissed the sea it would turn to lemonade…” Have a listen – I challenge you! Let me know what you think in the comments section below.

Music (2)
I am currently having rather a lot of fun helping to make really useful music teaching resources with my friends Kevin and Janice Tuck. If you have friends who are music teachers, I recommend either ‘becoming a fan’ at their Facebook page at the Fun Music Company to keep informed about Music Teaching resources, or checking out their site for those that they create themselves (sometimes I help!!)

In the spirit of the green orange invisible gestation period (do you think nature is keeping them as hidden treasure til she has them ready?) I am working on my contribution to the Fun Music Company Music Theory sheets (History of Rock and Roll is coming soon), new lino prints and website improvements. Today has been a ‘pimp my blog’ day, with the new CommentLuv application (in the comments section, signified by the heart) and a new simplified blog feed (which you wont notice if I’ve done it right) through to my Facebook Visual Artist page.

I haven’t been entirely well. Whilst not really wanting to elaborate on that here, I am now taking good care of myself and getting better every day.

Soon green citrus (tangerine in this case) will be coming to fruition in all of its juicy, colourful goodness. Stay tuned!

Lots of green and orange, healthy, musical love to you,
Meg

Continuing on the theme of beauty from last time…

There is synchronicity going on. The other day I took this photograph of a footpath (sidewalk) message:

Within hours I found a site which seems to have a mission similar to the ‘concrete-writing encourager’. It’s called Operation Beautiful and intends to transform the way people view themselves, one post it note at a time! One of my favourite suggestions is the succinct: “Count your blessings, not your blemishes.”

You are beautiful. Just as you are. Right now.

Greetings emboldened golden bold souls,

Earlier I scrawled a reminder to myself to buy petrol – I was waiting for a traffic light to change to green at the time. This is it:

I threw it down on the passenger seat next to me in the car and the note floated down and rotated enough to give me this wonderful hidden bonus reminder:

“loved” it looks like to me…

I am choosing to take it as a lovely coincidental message, perhaps from a greater power, via my subconscious. I am loved! So are you! Remember!

My husband thought it looked like it said Pascal What do you think?

See you next time,
Meg

Greetings, Petals!

I hope you will bear with me during my site overhaul. Apologies if some of the writing is A BIT HUGE, or if some of the elements aren’t quite displaying consistently. Trained technicians will be dealing with this as soon as possible! And I am in the middle of changing the colours around too.

Great news! I am going to be doing a special regular “List” kind of feature, about every 2 weeks I’m guessing. It’s yet to be named, but will have tons of fun ideas – or is it tuns of fon ideas? – for getting, noticing or keeping art, colour, and joy in your life. Let me know if you have thoughts on this in the comments section below.

I have been busy in a few arenas…. Now I have a “Page” on FaceBook. Here is my badge:
Tangerine Meg | Promote your Page too

Last night I attended a dancing class. Step, step, step. Twirl, twirl, twirl. I admit I got a little bit dizzy. Maybe I do need to do the “log” and “egg” rolls during circus warm-up, to acclimatise myself to the motion.

Garden news: The blueberry plants have buds – potential berries, hooray! And with all the rain, the grass is just about taking over. Oranges are ripening on the tree – success! I hope it’s not too late to plant fruit trees, but I think the optimum time has passed. At the growers market I have been buying wonderful pistachio nuts, roasted, salted, and GROWN LOCALLY!

I am being a ScannerMonkey and organising scans of all the latest artwork, so New Stuff is not far away!

Take care,
Meg

Hi there, happy humans!

Hope you are well and thriving. Just a short post today to keep in touch!

We got some beautiful rain! Hoorah! Hooray! The ponds at the park have gone from cracked desert bowls back to full watery ponds. And the ducks are back. I don’t know where they were, but I’m glad they’re back.

I am learning a “Drop” on the trapeze! SO excited! A drop is when you let go from one position and fall safely to another. 2 weeks ago it hadn’t crossed my mind that this could happen anytime soon.

If you can, go to the movie “The Boat that Rocked”. I went last night (late), and loved it. It’s M-rated and is made by Working Title Films. It’s a fun (with drama) romp through about a year of the 60s, when popular music was barely played on land based radio stations, and a big radio station ship was set up off-shore from Britain to play rock and pop music. Half the population of Britain would tune in. A good story with plenty of colour and laughs, a little nudity, a few swears, great performances, and really well edited and otherwise put together. Not to spoil but I was hanging on and with bated breath at the end. Music was of course fantastic.

See you soon,
Love Meg
