Dear bold souls,

Much chaos this week at my place, with one family member now being sans appendix.

I have nevertheless somehow managed to start the Super Art-Scanning Fest I mentioned… and I bring you 2 new art Tshirts! The fancy hippy necklaces are not included. Rather, they are brought to you as invented accessorising suggestions by me, with the help of ‘Photoshop’ and ‘Illustrator’ magic! To buy, click the photo, which will take you to the preview page where you can try out different colour and style shirts.

The Green Leaf ‘T’
Note: Not, in this case, green leaf Tea – another wonderful thing, but different!

Whilst out running, I retrieved some fallen autumn leaves from the ground to try to paint -yoink! I am not really sure why this one fell, as the tree hadn’t gotten around to taking the chlorophyll back yet! I love the fresh green, it seems to enliven a lot of flattering Tshirt colours.

Four leaves, no weddings and no funerals

I composed this layout in my head as I continued my run, thinking it could make a good greeting card design. After previewing that the outcome is: hmm, not so much… BUT I think it looks pretty good for a unisex Tshirt design – this would look cool on its own, or under a jacket or a waistcoat, and clearly goes well with hippy jewellery too!

If you would like to put some more thought into things with four leaves, like lucky clovers, here’s a link to a new blog post by Christine Kane, which meant a lot to me this week when I was learning how best to be helpful to the member of my family who needed to be in hospital. My favourite part is:

… it is imperative that we learn to inhale deeply, to allow praise, to be special, to nourish ourselves, to feed ourselves, to absorb the abundance of love that is out there for the taking.

Often we are so busy giving and coaching and befriending and serving – that we lose sight of the simple truth that energy is meant to flow.

Big sigh. Smile. Did anybody else need a reminder?

Take care of yourself, and also accept care that is offered to you.
Have a wonderful week,
Love Meg x o

Hello dear readers!

Hope this finds you well, and enjoying your life with boldness and verve

Thanks to Sarah Wilson and her engaging blog for (on April 2nd) showing us this clever film clip. See if you can recognise the works of art the people have made out of their very selves. The music is cool, too!! Imagine how much work it would have been to set up!

That reminds me: Did you ever see the Gilmore Girls episode when they posed as living works of art? (This clip is 5 minutes at the end of the episode with a couple of examples of living art and quite a bit of the story!) That was the first I had heard of such a thing.

I hope your life has a little art and a little music in it today
Meg x

Hello dear bold and wonderful readers,

There’s an opportunity to get some art on shirts without paying postage!

Do you need a gift for a fabulously bold friend? Someone for whom ‘the usual’ just will not do,

Or a treat for you? A celebration of your own bold soul and a vibrant reminder to savour the lush moments that abound in your every day?

Then it might be handy to let you know that RedBubble (the Print on Demand place that prints my tshirts) are having a lovely “shipping free for 3 or more tshirts” sale for a couple of weeks.

So you can buy 3 tshirts for your bold self, for bold gifts, or get together with 2 bold friends if you don’t need 3 yourself right now, and you get free postage! Neato for Christmas shopping. I am going to get some for my family. Note the RedBubble Christmas order deadlines.

Independant RedBubble tshirt review by tshirt and hoodie specialist blog – a worthwhile read, this is an independent and experienced impression of RedbBubble quality and customer service.

I have been wearing the men’s cut as well as the women’s. The men’s is quite long with longish short sleeves. I find I buy 2 sizes up from my usual in the ladies fit; compared to the men’s they have a shorter sleeve, a less square line, and are not quite as long, but still generous. They easily machine wash with no particular care needed from the owner, however instructions are provided!

Greetings fellow inhabiters of BlogWorld,

During July and August I am happy (and encouraged) to say that some of my printmaking work has gone to good homes, some locally, some via Air Mail.

As of today, I have also updated my Tangerine Meg etsy shop listings to include some new prints that are printed, painted and available.
For this here blog, I have fresh uploads too, which need a new theme maybe (as they are neither “Happy People” nor “Cat Prints”). They are a dove, mandarins etc, with pears to follow. Hmmm…How about Nature As Design Element? Too long perhaps? …Now I’ve decided, it’s called Design from Nature; feel welcome to have a look at my simple new page.
The next updating needs to be my own card shop. Will let you know when that is done.

More details later on my SALA screening that I mentioned a few weeks ago. I will tell the whole story when I get a link to a particular photo someone took.

Wishing you peace,
Meg

Hello (maybe) arty (probably) bloggy (pretty sure you’re) humans (no offence to any other reading sentients or entities, all welcome)!

Firstly, I will give you a link to gouache at artslice which simply explains the difference between gouache and watercolours, and has a nice photo.

I am working on painting some prints. It is so lovely painting yellow, cadmium yellow to be exact (yummy-doodles). The smooth stroke of the brush and the colour materialises like liquid shiny sunshine. I just got the feeling to tell you that; in reality all of the colours give me a buzz, and when you put them next to each other…glee!

I was sorting out some prints and in doing so realised how many times I had printed “Joy Riding” in order to get the 9 that printed cleanly and blackly enough to be an edition. I counted them: 11 + the 9 good ones, + 3 APs (Artists Proofs – trials of progressing prints, in this case used to trial colours), so that’s 23. Crikey, it is a good thing I changed my mind from wanting to do an edition of 15!

I have changed track with Joy Dancing Within, remember her? I have been to-ing and fro-ing with the colour plan. The colour schemes (“stories” in fashion lingo) were originally to try to get the dress to stand out and contrast with the background. Now I am taking another tack, and intergrating the whole thing with lots of different greens, and maybe a sunny yellow background(!).

Quote of the day (attributed to Madonna): “The best thing about getting older is getting smarter”.

Keep your glass half full,
Meg
