Where I'm at. Learning, growing, buying socks.

Hey gorgeouses! :)
Mwah!
Huggle?

I am bursting so show you my new Sock Dreams socks:

Are they not lovely? Those middle flowery ones (one pair for me and one for mum) definitely qualify as art to wear on your feet – just as gorgeous in real life as I had hoped – and those recycled cotton rainbow ones are super long. They call them OTK, Over The Knee! I chose mostly cotton pairs, and they’re all really comfy. They included a cute sticker and personalised the invoice with cool hand-lettering. The whole parcel made me smile :)
It’s suddenly gotten icy chilly here, so I have – of pure necessity ;) – put in another order immediately, this time for some wool socks, to keep my bold little toes warm!

These are some kind of early chrysanthemum from the Farmers Market. That Sunday was pretty hot and things had gotten a little stuffy and dull. Here was the remedy:

Bringing in flowers is one of the choices I am learning to make more often! Don’t you think colour and leafy growth radiate enlivening energy into the surrounding space?

Don’t know if this will have the same effect on your screen, but this photo with the lovely blues in it gives me a sense of vertigo! I like the way the flowers look a bit like stars too.

Til I see you next, keep me in mind if you need a special gift of art for someone, even yourself :) or greeting cards or a calendar, won’t you, lovelies? I’d really appreciate it!

Keep warm,
Love Meg x o

  1. Ooh, I love fun socks! I might have to go have a looky at those :)

Thanks for the wonderful wool in my mail today – oh, and Molly the Dog and Frodo the Cat also thought they were wonderful – look what happens when you roll them, Mum!!!! Sigh. Need to convert intomy blanket so they just sleep on them instead ;)

    • Have your Paypal ready, when you go to Sock Dreams (dot com), Yvette! I am pretty sure you will find something there that you like!
Glad you, Molly and Frodo like the wool :) I think some of those rolly balls are handspun/dyed. (And you can always dye those natural sheepy colours!) The blanket was coming along beautifully the last time I saw a pic.

  2. I can only imagine the chill that you must have been suffering to have to order more piggy toe art!! :)
Flowers in the home is a necessity of mine. I have ones cut out of my yard now. I am also trying something new, house plants. I am not that bad outside in the garden, but I am learning that these things called house plants are WAY different!! Check back with me in a few years to see if I still have them. lol
Finally, I always think of you!!
Huggles, Cuddles and wet puppy kisses!!!

    • Hi Deanna!
I’ve not had luck with house plants before, and then this past year had a very happy aloe vera indoors. I took it outside for some water and direct sunshine, and it just doesn’t look right anymore…
I hope yours go better than mine :)
Good idea using the word ‘necessity’ for flowers in the house!
      Love and Hugs x o

  3. there’s something about wyld socks that makes my heart sing! It’s like wearing red underwear! All of these are yummy and I can see why you immediately reordered – out of necessity of course!

Those mums are a really pretty red – I’ve seen them burgundy before but not that red – and there’s nothing like blue flowers. Always unexpected and I don’t know why!

Stay warm (I’ll send you a bit of mine as we seem to be having more than our fair share right now) . Huggles most definitley!

    • Thanks for the warm. I’m just glad it’s now only 2 weeks til the shortest day of the year, and then the days start to get longer again!
I adore blue flowers, and have just planted an Australian Lavender, and a couple of types of blue salvia :)
Red underwear and yummy singing socks! You’ve gotta go about your day being happy with an underlayer like that :)
